Many people visiting Manchester ask me for tips. So it makes sense to put them online.
This list is some of my personal favourites. Bare in mind I'm boring and wrote this with certain (vegetarian) friends in mind. So lots of the places to eat have good vegetarian or even vegan options, but not all. Also, you'll probably have your own opinions, let me know.

Lots of the bars and pubs in Manchester are also great for food, I'll try to point them out here as well. But bear in mind that a lot of places in the UK don't do food all night.
I've also mentioned live music and club nights in this section, but that doesn't mean there's something on every night.

There is lots going on in the Northern Quarter. For short stays explore the area around Tib Street, Oldham Street, and Stevenson Square and you can't go wrong.
Manchester is a live music city, you really should try to find some. You can use these links as well as some of the venues already mentioned
Elbow playing at Jodrell Bank.
There's more to Manchester than football (unless there's a game on).
